looks like i’m getting back into digital coloring!
this one is pretty self-evident, its a mermaid!
featured mainly in the mythologies of the western world, they became widely known mythological creatures through the fairy tale the little mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen, they have ties with the ancient greek nerieds and also sirens of greek and roman myth as well, often attributed to them were luring sailors off ships with beguiling songs and causing shipwrecks, my mermaid is one of those, she has a little harp (kinda hard to see maybe?) and looks a little less cuddly than the disney version i like to think.
pencil brushpen and photoshop. I was playing with a more painterly style of coloring but i think i’ll try flat colors again and see if it compliments better? maybe..
